About Us
A Group with a Common Passion
SRM is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit home brewing club in Spokane, established in 2023. We are a club of home brewers and beer enthusiasts who are dedicated to the education and enjoyment of fermented and brewed beverages. Members share their knowledge and skills freely and hope to foster a culture of inclusion, helpfulness and respect. How often does SRM Brew Club meet?
Our regular meetings will be once a month, every 3rd Thursday. However, we will have other formal and informal gatherings and events posted throughout the year. Everyone is free to participate in as little or as many activities that they can! Once a member, follow this page, our Facebook group, or sign up for email reminders of events.
Do I have to be a member to participate and how do I join the club?
You may first attend a meeting before deciding if this club is for you. To be a part of our regular meetings and events, you do have to be a SRM club member. There will be some events open to the general public, which will be posted on Facebook, Instagram, & flyers around town.
To join, come to any formal or informal gathering and/or event. See the membership dues section for how much it is to join. You can pay in person or we can take PayPal/Venmo.
What do I have to bring to a club meeting?
-
Bring your own tasting glass to all of the meetings (we will have some extras in case you forget).
-
You are welcome and encouraged to bring in your own beer, mead, wine, kombucha, or any home brew to share with fellow members. Remember, you can often learn a lot more from the bad beers you make than the good ones, so bring 'em all in and share! Nothing to share? That's okay too - we need as many tasters and palettes as well!
-
It is okay to bring snacks or food. There is also River City Pizza right next door to Genus Brewery for larger meal options. Please clean-up your food and beverage leftovers at the end of the meeting.
-
Well-behaved dogs and pup-pups are welcome to Genus Brewery!
What do we do at the meetings and what else does the group have to offer?
Each monthly meeting, the club tries to schedule a training/educational session of some kind (presented from an active member or local professional brewer in the area) or create a fun activity that develops our growth as homebrewers. Topics may include things such as beer styles, equipment, techniques, or just about anything related to brewing. We also encourage the tasting and discussion of any homebrew brought to sample.
Several special events are to be planned, such as the club camping trip, beer tours, outings to local breweries, and club-run beer festivals/competitions.
The best way to really find out more about us is to stop by one of our monthly meetings or by joining our social pages & chatting with some of our awesome members!
